Premier Section Match Report - Right To Dream 0 - 2 O' Higgins
O' Higgins dare to Dream
The popular Right To Dream of Ghana faced off against O'Higgins in Riada Stadium, Ballymoney tonight as both teams played their first matches of this year's tournament.
After a very intense start it was a moment of brilliance that opened the scoring, as Matias Meneses swung and struck a sweet left-footed volley past the keeper from 25 yards to give O'Higgins the lead.
Right to Dream were struggling to break down the O'Higgins defence but almost equalled the scoring twice before the break but Anom's free kick and Owuso's swerving 20 yard effort were both well saved by the O'Higgins goalkeeper.
There were very few clear cut chances as the first half drew to a close.
Right to Dream upped their game in the second half and went close through Gideon Mensah's looping header.
They then had their best opportunity of the night which fell to Antwi in the box after Anom's corner but he fired over the top from 5 yards as another chance went begging for the Ghanaians.
Despite the Right To Dream pressure the O'Higgins defence remained solid throughout. The Chilean outfit secured their win when Salazar showed great feet to break into the box before firing low into the bottom right corner.
O’ Higgins now face Vendee, from France, in what could be an intriguing contest in Portrush (5pm). Right To Dream face another tricky encounter against Newcastle United in Portstewart (7pm)
